ABOUT THE YMCA OF SIMCOE/MUSKOKA:
The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka currently serves over 125,000 people in Simcoe County and the Districts of Muskoka and Parry Sound in Central Ontario. The YMCA is one of the largest charities within our service area, providing over $1.1 million annually of support and access to our programs and services.

With a staff complement of 1200+ full and part-time staff, combined with over 1,000 volunteers and donors, and an operating budget of $39 million, the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka serves over 30,000 annual members and participants through its eight membership centres in Barrie, Collingwood, Gravenhurst, Innisfil, Midland, Orillia, Parry Sound, and Wasaga Beach; 3,000 Child Care families across a number of communities; registers 5,000 day campers in addition to 1000 overnight campers at YMCA Camp Kitchikewana on Beausoleil Island; over 15,000 people through leadership development, outdoor education and family programs at YMCA Geneva Park; and counsels over 20,000 people in several community development programs.

GENERAL FUNCTION:
Supports the General Manager in the day to day operations of the administration and customer service area. Responsible in the evening to provide customer service to all groups and guests on-site and complete all night audit functions with accuracy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrate strong support and commitment to the mission and core values of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka and the YMCA in Canada.
• Demonstrate strong support and commitment to serving the membership, facility users and all program participants of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.
• Complete daily Night Audit functions with attention and accuracy.
• Provide customer service to all on site guests including registration, directions, copying and fax services and merchandise sales.
• At times, act as senior staff person for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances. Ensure that guest activities respect the safety and use of the facility. Able to react in a calm but concise manner and do follow up notes and phone calls to General Manager or proper department manager when necessary.
• Produces daily reports to Food Service and Housekeeping & Custodial departments.
• Follow up on all conference files to ensure signed contracts and deposits.
• Ensure that the guest’s expectations are of the highest SAM standard.
• Produce an evening report at the end of each shift.
• Responsible for Quality Assurance statistics and reports monthly to General Manager
• Meet with the midnight custodial staff to provide them with any additional information they may need.
• Adherence to all provincial and federal legislation relevant to job description.
• Undertakes other reasonable tasks in support of YMCA Geneva Park, which the General Manager may assign from time to time.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Secondary Education
• Able to work alone
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills (written and spoken)
• Experience with Hotel/Conference systems
• Qualified with basic word processing and excel spread sheets
• Proven Customer Service Experience
• First Aid and CPR Certification
• Child Protection orientation
• AODA training
• Health & Safety Awareness training
• Violence & Harassment in the Workplace training
• PCI Compliance
• Must be able to work flexible hours based on client needs
• Clear Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Mandated training is required before or shortly after commencement of work
