This program combines group work with a paid work experience to encourage the development of employability and occupational skills. Youth spend six weeks in a small group of approximately eight participants preparing for a paid work experience. During the six weeks, the youth brush up on their life skills and work toward removing the barriers to employment that have been preventing them from accessing the labour market. Participants also secure an individual 18-week supported work experience and ultimately learn to make the transition from supported work experience to a permanent transition into the labour market. This program is funded by Service Canada and is delivered in Barrie and Orillia.
