Currently Kate is leading the philanthropic efforts at YMCA Geneva Park as the Y begins a $15 million dollar redevelopment initiative; she is also assisting the VP of Philanthropy, Brand and Community Development on the capital development of a new Barrie YMCA.
Kate’s career began with a passion to help others through counselling after receiving her Master’s degree in Kentucky. When she started with the YMCA of Central Kentucky as the Executive Assistant to the President and CEO, she worked closely with the Board of Directors, donors, and senior staff growing to love the mission, value and impact the YMCA had on a global level. During her time in Kentucky she worked with senior staff on two capital projects. Her role expanded and she moved into a Marketing and Communications Specialist position completing the rebranding from YUSA for the Association and working on rolling out the YUSA Nationwide Campaign on the local level. Kate received the 2012 North American YMCA Development Organization (NAYDO) Communication Award for Print Material and is also a NAYDO Young Professionals Program graduate of 2013.
