The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka continues to inspire youth and young adults to reach their full potential.

My Y creates a sense of belonging to community and purpose, providing valuable programs and services that help children, youth and adults reach their full potential.  On February 27, the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services announced new supports for young people leaving the care of Children’s Aid Societies, and selected the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka to deliver the Youth-In-Transition program within our community. To successfully help these young adults reach their full potential, the Y will leverage its strong relationship with the Children’s Aid of Simcoe County and other relevant partners, as we work together to build a strong community through collaboration.

My Y’s Youth-In-Transition worker will help:

  • Secure local, affordable housing
  • Find education and employment resources to help cover the cost of postsecondary education and training, or to find a job
  • Identify skills training, such as financial literacy courses and meal planning
  • Access health and mental health services like being connected with a family doctor and counselling
  • Locate legal services, including advice for youth in the justice system.

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka takes pride in our partnerships with community and corporate partners, and ability to work openly with government to deliver essential programs. The Youth-In-Transition program is another community initiative to help young people, ages 16-24, address the barriers that limit their potential to leading healthier, more secure lives. The YMCA has programs that help people achieve their goals in a safe, welcoming environment.
