Industrial Filter Manufacturing

Position Description:
Reports to Production Supervisor

Job purpose
To prepare packaging materials & complete packaging, sealing, labelling, and stacking of finished goods
boxes in a manner that ensures a continuous and efficient flow of production processes. Maintain quality
standards and productivity expectations.

Duties and responsibilities
• Follow all Health & Safety rules and protocols
• Maintain IFM’s standards of health, safety, hygiene and security in accordance with policies and procedures
• Follow IFM’s Code of Conduct
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures provided for equipment operation and work processes
• Manage and complete box building tasks for sewing, tubing and welding departments
• Seal and label boxes promptly as they are completed and move to shipping prep area
• Oversee the production inventory of packaging materials (boxes, bags, box inserts & tape) – notify
warehouse personnel when inventory levels are low and assist in restocking
• Maintain stock levels of packaging materials at Sewing and Welding Department QC desks (packing tape,
box inserts, instruction leaflets)
• Assist in building skids of finished goods
• Operate material handling assist devices (hand & pallet trucks)
• Operate hydraulic press machine to cut paper tags & arrange neatly in tag storage locations
• Maintain a clean and organized work area – complete daily and weekly cleaning duties; adopt and apply 6S
lean principles and methods to work areas and processes
• Perform any other reasonable duty requested by management

• Basic computer literacy

Working conditions
• Fast-paced environment and pressure associated with meeting demands and deadlines

Physical requirements
• Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 75 lbs
• Frequent reaching with arms and hands

• Prolonged periods of walking, bending and stooping
• Occasional ladder climbing

The following is meant to provide more detailed instructions for daily duties.
1. Build boxes for Sewing and Weld Row QC (refer to completed PF022: Daily Box Requirements)
2. Complete box and bag inventory (PF114: Production Packaging Inventory Check List)
• Notify Warehouse Manager of needs
• Complete restocking of materials when brought over by Warehouse Manager
3. Close Boxes at sewing QC, then at welding QC
4. Cut tags and file in designated areas and bins
5. Close boxes at sewing and welding QC throughout day – when 5 boxes need closing
• Check status every half hour
6. Build boxes for sewing and weld row QC as directed by Lead Hands
• Keep designated areas stocked
