Temporary Full-Time Position (January 2022 to approximately January 2023)
The Health Centre has an opening for a temporary full-time Administrative Assistant, reporting to the Chief Operating
Officer. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and executive clerical support to the Chief Operating
Officer and Managers within the Finance Department in order to facilitate the efficient and effective operations of the
Health Centre. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday regular hours.
Basic Qualifications:
• Administrative Assistant or Secretarial College Diploma or equivalent combination of education and
• Minimum three years’ experience in an administrative office;
• Sound knowledge of current trends in the administrative field and a willingness to learn and deploy new and
emerging technologies;
• Post-secondary courses in finance or accounting;
• Previous related health care experience and demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology;
• Previous experience and demonstrated ability in taking meeting minutes;
• Previously experience working with a computerized accounting system;
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the ability to prioritize and organize work;
• Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct business correspondence and reports;
• Ability to communicate orally using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to provide information, and the ability
to speak and interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds;
• Ability to multi-task while providing consistent high quality work;
• Excellent understanding of privacy and confidentiality;
• Demonstrated analytical abilities and judgement;
• Excellent typing skills and proficiency in using a wide range of software applications including Microsoft
Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher);
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, organizational, decision-making, problem
solving, and time management skills;
• Commitment to continuing education and maintaining professional standards;
• Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history and positive work
• Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of the West Parry Sound Health Centre:
