For over 30 years, we have been committed to providing training with meaningful content, practical skills, and a safe environment in which to learn. Our Retail storefront also offers thousands of workplace and industrial safety products, janitorial supplies such as paper towels, garbage bags and cleaning solutions. We sell workwear, CSA-Approved footwear, hard hats, safety glasses, fall protection equipment, traffic cones, first aid supplies, fire extinguisher sales and servicing, AED’s and so much more. First For Safety is actively looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a First Aid & CPR Instructor reporting to the Training Manager. We are looking for long-term working relationships with individuals who are responsible, passionate and trustworthy. A First Aid & CPR Instructor is responsible for the learning of all students in the course. Instructors will be required to teach the Canadian Red Cross curriculum programming. Courses are scheduled ahead of time, commitment is required from instructors at the time they are contracted/booked.

Responsibilities and Duties:
– Be organized and accountable for being prepared prior to each class.
– Instruct Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR programming such as Standard First Aid & CPR/AED, Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED, Basic Life Support-HCP, etc.
– Administer and mark tests, collecting paperwork and submitting attendance to our training administrator.
– Ensure equipment is clean and in good working order, decontaminate all surfaces and equipment upon course completion.

Qualifications:
– Current Canadian Red Cross First Aid Instructor Certificate
– Minimum 3 years experience instructing First Aid & CPR or applicable relatable experience.
– Able to create and maintain a positive learning environment which supports the diversity of students’ cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning styles.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
– Valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle, must be flexible in various work environments and be willing to travel locally.
– Red Cross Youth Leader Certificate

Physical Demands:
The position may require occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to 30 pounds and standing for an
extended time.
