The IT Technician will work independently, as well as part of a team, to support the organizations defined service expectations. The primary responsibility and accountability is to resolve client technology issues and challenges in an efficient, timely and courteous manner via various communication methods including phone, voicemail, email and in person. In addition, this role is required to lead and assist in various IT related projects as required.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Employee set up, updating, support and guidance on on-line systems, software, and equipment training
  • Knowledge of desktop/laptop/hardware/mobile configuration and set up, offer end user support, and work with third party managed service provider to troubleshoot to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Tracking and monitoring current equipment, warranties and product updates
  • In conjunction with third party managed service provider, organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance as well as implementation and support of networks and computers, with minimal impact on end user
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Assist in the maintenance of local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Troubleshoot network issues (user, site, area specific), speed issues, Wi-Fi coverage/access
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages for recommendation
  • Develop electronic workflows, as required
  • PBX, Ring Central and mobile device management including configuration, distribution, and end user support
  • Create, maintain and edit the organization website through WordPress
  • Perform quality assurance measures for video conferencing and follow up with participants as needed
  • Any other duties as assigned

To be considered as a candidate, the successful applicant must have the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Diploma in Computer Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent, CompTIA A+ or similar certification would be an asset
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Suite products
  • Understanding of the Microsoft 365 platforms and Microsoft Azure
  • Understanding of IT security best practices
  • Ability to clearly and easily communicate technology-related issues or information
  • Excellent organizational and technical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to see what needs to be done and work independently to get it done
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and drivers abstract
  • Proof of insurance and access to a reliable vehicle being used in the course of employment
  • Criminal reference check with vulnerable sector check, no older than 6 months
  • Adherence to Confidentiality Policy at all times

Hourly rate of pay: $30.03
