What You Will Do:

 Have fun this summer leading our day camp programming for children. Together with your team, plan, organize and deliver safe and engaging programming for children of all ages in indoor and outdoor settings.

 Exercise your leadership skills by supporting your team and supervising Day Camp Leaders, Volunteers, and Campers.

 Participate in facilitating training sessions and assist with performance evaluations.

 In a team environment, hone your interpersonal skills through communication with leaders, campers and parents.

 Partner with an exceptional Recreation team to learn more about a career in Recreation.

 Your safety and that of our campers is our priority! Keep everyone safe by following the Town’s health and safety policies and relevant legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS while ensuring HIGH FIVE – Principles of Healthy Child Development are incorporated in all program areas.

 This position reports to the Recreation Programmer or designate and is expected to start June 24, 2022 and end September 2, 2022.

We are looking for a team player who is enthusiastic, customer service focused and who has the following:

 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with campers, members of the public, coworkers and others in a friendly, courteous and effective manner.

 Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.

 Experience working with children is an asset.

 Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.

 HIGH FIVE – Principles of Health Child Development (or willingness to obtain).

 HIGH FIVE Quest 2 considered an asset.

 A valid “G” Ontario Driver’s License in good standing and a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.

 Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

 Ability to provide an acceptable vulnerable sector police check.

 Experience with, or willingness to learn, relevant safety legislation.
