Contract, Full-Time, Non-Union

What You Will Do:

 Have fun this summer leading our day camp programming for children. Together with your team, plan, organize and deliver safe and engaging programming for children of all ages.

 Hone your interpersonal and leadership skills in a team environment, with the opportunity to deliver programming in various settings such as our indoor and outdoor program areas, low ropes courses, pool areas, arena and other Town facilities.

 Develop your skills and learn more about a career in Recreation by working with an engaging team.

 Your safety and that of our campers is our priority! Keep everyone safe by following the Town’s health and safety policies and relevant legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS while ensuring HIGH FIVE Principles are incorporated in all program areas.

 This position reports to the Recreation Programmer or designate and is expected to start June 24, 2022 and end September 2, 2022.

We are looking for a team player who is enthusiastic, customer service focused and who has the following:

 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with campers, members of the public, coworkers and others in a friendly, courteous and effective manner.

 Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.

 Experience working with children and developing programming in a camp setting is considered an asset.

 HIGH FIVE – Principles of Health Child Development.  Ability to work independently and as part of the team.

 Ability to provide an acceptable vulnerable sector police check.

 Experience with, or willingness to learn, relevant safety legislation.
