Equine Coach/Stable Coordinator

Under the direct supervision of the Youth Lodge Program Manager and overall supervision of the Executive Director, the Equine Coach/Stable Coordinator is responsible to deliver an equine horsemanship and riding program. As well as maintain health and safety standards for the stables, animals and clients.
· Work with a team to design, deliver and facilitate horsemanship and riding program.
· Assist with stable management to ensure safe environment for staff and animals.
· Lead the daily tasks regarding care of horses, small animals and equipment on site.
· Provide ongoing horse handling exercising to maintain and ensure safety.
· Engage youth wellness clients in a western riding program.
· Work with external clients from all Enaahtig programs to connect with the horses and on the land therapies.
· Other duties as required.
· Certification in western riding/coaching.
· Excellent equestrian riding and handling skills.
· Experience in stable management and animal care.
· Must have experience working with youth.
· Must be willing to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
· Must have a valid Drivers License and reliable transportation.
· Must be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid, NVCI and other required trainings.
· Be a role model in the community.
· Knowledge of Indigenous culture.
