Fence Installer/General Labourer

Under the supervision of crew foreman, employee will assist with installing various types of fencing on construction, commercial or institutional properties and residential sites. These various project locations and use of power tools can be potentially dangerous. Employees are required to be responsible while working, conduct themselves in a safe manner and follow ALL health & safety rules. Employees must demonstrate themselves trustworthy and regard all other employees, supervisors, contractors, and any other job site attendees (including home owners, subcontractors, foremen, or any other tradespeople) with respect.

• Load, unload, transport, carry and handle fence materials
• Mix, pour and transport concrete
• Assemble and install various types of fencing
• Use a range of manual and power tools and machinery
• Work on the ground, ladders and elevated heights as required
• Clean and pile materials while removing other debris
• Use of shovels and backhoes to dig holes and smooth terrain
• Maintaining a clean working site, including proper disposal of packaging, garbage or material wrapping
• Assist other co-workers
• Perform other duties as assigned by site Supervisor

• Must have physical strength and manual dexterity
• Must be able to lift and handle up to 45kg
• Hand-eye coordination, concentration, endurance
• Attention to details
• Capable of completing repetitive tasks
• Ability to understand and communicate information and instructions with clarity
• Possess a valid Driver’s License
• Basic Health and Safety knowledge

• No minimum education required.
• Employee will receive on the Job training and experience

• General Power and Manual Tool knowledge
• Mandatory Training: Health & Safety Awareness, Working at Heights, WHIMIS
• Optional training an asset: First Aid/CPR, Forklift, Health & Safety Rep, Supervisor course

• Must have various manual and power tool experience
• Be responsible for health and safety
• Ability to work as a team
• Ability to follow procedures and directions
• Ability to communicate with clarity and respect to co-workers and authorities
• Organization and ability to execute multiple instructions

Working Conditions
• Job Site Environments contain higher risks than normal and therefore require special safety precautions and safety training
• Ability to work outdoors in various temperatures under all weather conditions; (including but not limited to heat, rain, snow, and wind.) Job site debris and dust occasionally a factor.
• May be required to work a flex schedule based on job timelines
• Hours of work may vary or extend based on workload requirements and location
