Under the direction of the President, the Cabinet Maker/Installer & Finish Carpenter is a specialized role in the Manufacturing department. Cabinet Maker/ Installer/ Finished Carpenter is responsible for building
items, such as shelves, doors, windows, counters, and other carpentry projects, to the correct scale and dimensions. The incumbent is responsible to complete cabinet assembly and installation from start to finish. The incumbent is to provide the highest level of production, quality control, and maintenance of cabinets, installation, finish carpentry and custom work conducted by North Castle Construction. You may work on a variety of projects, including cabinet making, framing, decking, window and stair customizations, crown molding, and baseboard installations. Our ideal candidate has an aptitude for precision and can accommodate unique build requirements from clients.
•Construct and assemble cabinets, millwork, furniture, and miscellaneous items as instructed.
•Work with woodworking machinery, power tools and hand tools, such as sliding table saw, commercial brushing machine, planers, CNC machine, sanders, routers, shapers etc.
•Work with different materials, such as but not limited to MDF, epoxy, metals, melamine, solid wood, wood products, etc.
•Read and interpreting drawings, drawing symbols and blueprints.
•Be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently, and the projects will meet budgetary restrictions.
•Wood finishing, sanding, staining, and applying finishes.
•Reinforce joints and attachments to maximize sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionality.
•Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when needed.
•Gathering the elements of each cabinet and assembling the final product.
•Perform all cabinet installations, with the ability to reason, understand and carry out detailed written, illustrated, or oral instructions.
•Coordinate materials to job sites and install various millwork such as but not limited to kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, wall units, displays and closets.
•Commute effectively between job sites, suppliers, vendors (within work region), working on site and at the shop.
•Assist with other tasks that are not related to cabinet making/installation, such as different wood working, demo, excavation, landscaping, concrete etc.
•Measure, cut, and install various fixtures and millwork for doors, windows, ceiling panels, staircases, decking, furniture, etc.
•Repairing and adjust elements of cabinets that have been sent in for servicing.
•Adjustments to projects, installing windows and doors, and following blueprints.
•Finished Carpenter
•Constructed stairs, partitions, and frames with marine adhesives, biscuit joinery, and nails.
•Shape materials with hand and power tools, design prefabricated items like window frames, door jambs, and hardware pieces.
•Measure, cut, and install various fixtures and millwork for doors, windows, ceiling panels, staircases, decking, furniture, etc.
•Perform finish and trim carpentry work according to plans and specifications.
•Building and installing cabinets, such as kitchen cabinets and under-stair cabinets.
•Ensure work is completed as requested by the President and it is to their standards while working under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
•Keep inventory of materials and request purchases as needed for upcoming projects.
•Clean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding.
•Practice good housekeeping to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite and disposing of old materials, such as nails and screws.
•Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment.
•Collaborate with other carpenters, journeymen, and supervisors to complete projects
•Inspecting each completed item to ensure that it has been constructed accurately, and that the necessary finishes have been applied.
•Always abide by our code of conduct, policies, and procedures.
•Flexibility to work evenings, and weekends when requested.
•Other duties as required.

Work Experience Requirements
•Minimum three (3) years finish carpentry experience.
•Minimum three (3) years woodworking/cabinet making and installation experience
•CNC operation experience is an asset.

Educational Requirements
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Completion of a training program or apprenticeship will be advantageous.

•Must have a positive attitude and be punctual, polite, courteous with the ability to work with others.
•Must demonstrate carpentry expertise and excellent attention to detail.
•Ability to work both in and outdoors in all weather conditions.
•Ability to work independently or in a team as needed.
•Proven ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
•Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and be extremely meticulous.
•Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
•Intermediate computer & blueprint reading skills.
•Ability to read tape measure and use of square.
•Must have experience using hand and power tools such as handsaws, jig saws, chisels and planers.
•Exceptional hand-eye coordination, physical strength and stamina with the ability to lift heavy material such as MDF sheets, sheet material, etc.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills in person, over the phone and by email.
•Clean drivers abstract, Class G driver’s license with a reliable means of transportation.


Salary: $23 – $28 /Hour
