The Township of Seguin is a thriving municipality located in cottage country, 2
hours north of Toronto along the Highway 400 corridor. Seguin is home to 5,011
permanent residents with a seasonal increase to over 15,000 residents during the
summer months. With 186 lakes of all sizes and the pristine beauty and tranquility

The Township is seeking an ambitious, collaborative driven individual to lead the
Planning team in the delivery of all planning activities. The Senior Planner will
provide advice, guidance and recommendations on a variety of land use and
development applications in our growing and evolving municipality. As our Senior
Planner you will be required to prepare reports and deliver presentations before
Council, Committees, applicants and the general public.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, innovative, adaptable and be able to
build and maintain strong effective working relationships within the planning
department, and other departments within the organization.
As our ideal candidate, you hold a University degree in Urban Planning,
Environmental Studies, Geography or related field; a Registered Professional
Planner (RPP) designation and a member in good standings with the Canadian
Institute of Planners (CIP) and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI).
Municipal experience of 5 to 7 years with 3 to 5 years in a supervisory/management
role preferred. Travel will be required and you must have and maintain a valid Class
G Ontario Driver’s license. Attendance at some evening meetings is required.
Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications, 2021 salary range
$74,531 to $83,924.
