Golf Course Equipment Operator

The Golf Course Equipment operator, under supervision of the Golf Superintendent/Ownership performs work involving the use of large equipment, including tractors, loaders, trucks and other maintenance equipment. Golf irrigation, fertilizing, and cultural practices (Aeration/Topdressing).

Functions
-Mows fairways and roughs, tees and greens with appropriate equipment.
-Operates all types of equipment; Tractors, mowers, skid-steer/loader, golf carts, Utility Vehicles, aerifier.
-May operate smaller equipment such as trimmers, etc., as directed by his/her supervisor.
-Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans
equipment daily; and reports equipment problems or failures to the supervisor immediately.
-Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the golf superintendent, and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
-Aid in golf course playability by marshalling or directing membership
-Golf Irrigation, Fertilization.
-Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor or golf course ownership.

Starting Approx. April 1 (weather depending)

Employment standards
-Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment.
-WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety
-Mechanical aptitude.
-Ability to follow oral and written directions.
-Possession of a valid driver’s license.
