POSITION TITLE: HR Admin
DURATION: 26 Weeks
HOURLY WAGE: $18.50 / hour

Position Summary:
Wasauksing First Nation is accepting applications for a HR Admin for Wasauksing First Nation.
This position is part of the Youth Mentor Program for a youth ages 15 – 30, unemployed or
underemployed. The Human Resources Admin with Wasauksing First Nation, will assist the
Human Resources and administration team, whilst gaining experience to help their professional
career.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the HR Team in the day-to-day HR Operations, programs, and initiatives.
Organize and maintain HR records and files.
Draft internal employee communications – assist in developing employee handbook
and policies.
Assist with administrative support, training content and delivery
Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete employee records and ensure
confidentiality with all client and departmental files.
Locate filed materials upon request, ensuring that materials are provided only to
authorized users.
Monitor human resources related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency,
and relevance to business processes.
Eliminate unnecessary or outdated materials, destroying them or transferring them
to inactive storage according to file maintenance and legislative requirements.
Transition employee data to electronic format and organize.
Organize physical and online HR records in shared folders.
Coordinate the logistical aspects of departmental programs such as meetings,
seminars, workshops, special projects, and events.
Prepare, review, and/or edit various forms of correspondence such as letters,
invoices, presentations, publications, and reports.
Support with creation of job descriptions, job postings, resume screening, and
interviewing.
Support the Manager, Training and Development with training initiatives as
required.
Recommend changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in
compliance.
Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills.
Keep information and documents private and confidential.
Research and collect data on HRIS systems.
Coverage for office reception, directing calls, mail and people to the proper
departments and employees.
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL
Provide positive social experiences including sharing, cooperation and role modeling the
department core values – Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Caring.
Other duties as assigned by the Human Resource Manager.
Adhere to administration policies and rules governing students.
Prepare for assigned classes, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of
immediate supervisors.
Education & Experience:
Experience in the administration is considered an asset
Other Requirements:
● Provide a current CPIC
● Must be between the ages of 15 – 30 years old
● Must be unemployed or underemployed
