Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager of Maintenance/Plant Operations works as a
member of the management team providing management, leadership and expertise to maintenance,
grounds, and Building Monitor/Security staff. The successful candidate will ensure that the various
health centre facilities are functional and safe. The successful candidate will develop and adhere to
planned budget and manage all resources in a fiscally responsible fashion including the identification
and correction of inefficiencies.

Basic Requirements
• Successful completion of Grade 12 secondary school level diploma;
• Possession of a skilled trade certificate;
• Minimum of five years experience related to plant operations, building maintenance, and
• Minimum of five years boiler systems experience;
• Minimum of two years carpentry experience;
• Previous supervisory experience of maintenance staff;
• Knowledge and understanding of all related codes and regulations;
• Knowledge of legislation and regulations concerning plant operations and fire safety;
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize multiple projects;
• Ability to clearly communicate in a group setting and on a one-to-one basis;
• Skill in supervising staff including the ability to delegate responsibility, organize objectives, and
evaluate subordinate effectiveness;
• Sound knowledge of current trends in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry trades and HVAC
• Knowledge of building and security automation systems;
• Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare
• Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history and
positive work references;
• Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of the West Parry Sound Health
