Job Summary:

Gordon Bay Marine is seeking a dedicated and experienced Marine and Powersports Yard and Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily operations of our yard and facilities. The successful candidate will ensure that our facilities are properly maintained, repaired, and serviced, including managing dust control, water systems, and property maintenance. This role involves managing a skilled team of forklift operators and boat delivery drivers, coordinating with customers, and ensuring safety and efficiency within our yard and maintenance areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Yard Operations Management:
    • Supervise and coordinate all activities related to yard operations, including storage, staging, and movement of marine vessels and powersports equipment.
    • Create weekly schedules for staff and coordinate overtime as necessary.
    • Develop and implement efficient processes to optimize yard organization and workflow.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Facility Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Oversee routine maintenance and repairs of the facility, including buildings, docks, and other infrastructure.
    • Manage maintenance and repairs for yard equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
    • Coordinate dust control measures to ensure a clean environment.
    • Maintain and repair water systems, ensuring proper operation and compliance with standards.
    • Replace furnace filters and perform other routine maintenance.
    • Organize and manage property maintenance activities, including grass cutting and garden upkeep.
    • Monitor cleanliness and appearance of the yard to uphold company standards and enhance the customer experience.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
    • Ensure all facilities meet safety and operational standards.
  • Implementation of Yard Management Software:
    • Lead the implementation of the selected yard management software, including system configuration, user training, and troubleshooting.
    • Work closely with the service team to ensure seamless integration of the new software with existing processes and workflows.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure working environment for all yard personnel and visitors.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards related to the handling and storage of marine and powersports vehicles.
  • Customer Interaction and Support:
    • Interact with customers to understand their needs and provide assistance and support as required.
    • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
    • Cultivate strong relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies for facility maintenance.
    • Order necessary parts and manage vendor relationships.
    • Track and report on inventory usage and needs.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work on facilities.
    • Prepare and present reports on yard and facility maintenance operations.
    • Ensure proper documentation for compliance and audit purposes.


  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
    • Previous supervisory or management experience is highly desirable.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong technical knowledge of facility maintenance and repair.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Effective communication and customer service abilities.
    • Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily in an outdoor yard and indoor maintenance facility.
  • Requires physical activity, including lifting, carrying, and working in various weather conditions.
