enthusiastic and customer service focused applicant for the position of:

OPERATOR CLASS 3

Reporting to the Manager of Facilities or designate, the Operator Class 3 is responsible for performing
minor maintenance tasks, doing setups and performing custodial services to ensure the facilities and
equipment are well maintained and safe to operate and occupy. Facilities include but are not limited to the
Bracebridge Memorial Arena and the Bracebridge Sportsplex.

The position will undertake, monitor and evaluate maintenance schedules and operational procedures as directed by the Manager of Facilities. The successful applicant must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, Standard First Aid, CPR certification, and a Working at Heights Certificate. A Pool Operators Certificate with three years’ experience in pool operations and maintenance and an ORFA Certified Ice Technician Designation with knowledge of refrigeration equipment maintenance, ice making, and general maintenance procedures is required. Knowledge and experience working in compliance with relevant Federal and Provincial legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, and Occupiers Liability Act and a demonstrated ability to recognize and rectify and/or report actual and potential safety hazards is required. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment, to exhibit courtesy, tact and diplomacy dealing with the public, department officials, other staff members and the ability to adhere to confidentiality requirements with strong verbal and written communication, problem solving and time management skills are required. Ability to maintain records, prepare and present reports both orally and in a written format and the ability to direct and provide guidance to staff are also required. Propane Handlers Certificate, HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development, and Refrigeration Operator Class B Certificate are considered an asset.

The successful candidate must possess a Class “G” driver’s license in good standing, have access to a
reliable vehicle for use on corporate business and be able to provide a current acceptable driver’s abstract
and a current acceptable vulnerable sector check.

This Full-Time position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit with a comprehensive benefit
package.

Hourly Rate of $25.31-$25.66-$26.01
