Full job description

We are looking for an experienced painter/finisher to run our finishing shop in Parry Sound.

The shop is complimentary to our construction company focused on high end vacation homes in the Muskoka and Parry Sound areas.

Duties & responsibilities;

• Exceptional knowledge of paints & stains and application techniques.
• Lead a small team of finishers in a healthy and safe shop environment.
• Coordinate projects with clients, management, interior designers, architects, carpenters, etc..
• Oversee finishing tasks primarily within a shop environment. On site tasks occasionally, as required.
• Quality control – insure all projects meet the highest quality standards.
• Create, maintain and enforce shop safety guidelines.

Qualifications;

• Relevant finishing experience primarily working with wood and other high end materials.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to competently follow instructions and communicate with technical staff.
• Knowledge of all shop processes, including safety procedures.
• Ability to produce highest quality finishes while maintaining reasonable timelines.

Projects;

• Millwork, trim and moulding finishing. Wood & other high end materials.
• Pattern stock finishing. Wood T&G, MDF paneling & other high end materials.
• Heavy timber finishing – cornices, braces, mantles, beams, posts, etc..
• Finishing of many different custom decorative & functional elements.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Licence/Certification:

• driver’s license (required)

Work Location: In person
