Painting Department Supervisor

In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of the paint warehouse and the
painting crew. You will collaborate with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to deliver pre-finished
components from the paint department and organize and co-ordinate duties of on-site painters to
deliver 100% final completed projects.
• All facets of client representation including colour consultation, paint sample preparation,
process development
• Painting materials procurement and reconciliation upon request
• Estimating on interior and exterior drawings when required
• Contract completion verification and quality control
• Drawing interpretation
• Schedule development
• Cross invoicing for materials pre-finished in paint department
• Cost Accountability and overall profitability of paint department
• Scheduling of crews including crew size and complete crew set-up on site
• Training of crews when required with respect to custom paint/process application
• On site support to General Superintendent/Site Supervisor
• Compliance and strong understanding of all safety equipment and MOL guidelines for safe
application of tools/equipment on site and within warehouse including material storage and

• Administration: Monitor and approve timesheet submissions, onboard new paint department
employees, manage labour quantities, incident reporting, communicate effectively with all
General Superintendents, Site Supervisors and Project Managers
• In-depth knowledge and experience working with various painting equipment and products
including application methods
• Experience managing a crew of 5-10 employees
• Strong time-management skills with ability to complete projects within allotted time schedule and
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• 5-10 years residential construction painting experience
• Certificate and/or post-secondary diploma in a related discipline is an asset
• Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as required
