Patient Care Coordinator

We are seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in Parry Sound, Ontario. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity within the healthcare industry. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients, helping other staff members, and maintaining electronic records.

  • Duration: ASAP- Nov. 1, 2024
  • Pay: $22/hr
  • Shift: 8:30 – 5:00 p.m.
  • Location:  17 James St, Parry Sound, Ontario

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary connection between patients and specialists, ensuring a seamless healthcare experience.
  • Create a welcoming environment for patients through warm greetings and prompt assistance.
  • Collect and accurately maintain patient information in electronic records.
  • Respond to general inquiries within the office, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Assist other staff members in their roles to ensure the efficient operation of the office.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients, managing the office calendar effectively.
  • Uphold high standards of customer service and communication to ensure patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role as a Patient Care Coordinator or in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Should have the ability to handle challenging situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminologies and procedures is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is beneficial.
  • Should have the ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
