Production Supervisor

The incumbent must have ·excellent communication skills both written and verbal, He/she must be fully committed to Implementing and maintaining the systems set out by Georgian Bay Plastics.
He/she will have an excellent understanding of al! classifications in his/her charge. Through continuous improvement the incumbent will achieve a more efficient production department and maintain levels of production through training and upgrading of his/her personnel skills. Must be fully committed to providing technical support to the manufacturing process. The incumbent must be capable of setting up moulds and troubleshooting moulds and their process. It is expected that all processing techniques are based on sound technical means utilizing a scientific approach. Repeatability of process is crucial,

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
– Prepare your shift in accordance to the production schedule and its priorities.
– Assign to your personnel their daily work responsibilities.
– Ensure full compliance of all cycles and their efficiencies.
– Complete the necessary documentation and report your findings where necessary.
– Oversee the production operation to ensure the successful completion of work assigned.
– Monitor the performance or your personnel and their functions.
– Direct your personnel to achieve the daily requirements.
– Ensure that tasks disciplinary action and ensure that such action is:
1) in compliance with all ministerial regulations.
2) in compliance with all company policy & procedures.
3) fully and properly documented.
– Be accountable for the issues related to your shift.
– Communicate all pertinent information to the necessary people where needed.
– Keep the General Manager and Materials Manager aware of all matters of importance.
i.e. disciplinary actions.
– Efficiencies, technical problems, personnel problems, health & safety issues, environmental concerns, etc.
– Provide assistance to those who require answers. All questions are valid and of importance.
– Record the daily production obtained and document detailed explanations of inefficiencies.
– Display leadership by example.
– Keep yourself accessible to your staff, only leave the production area when it is absolutely necessary,
– Perform al! other tasks deemed reasonable as assigned by the Production Manager.
– Must understand the complete molding concept and operation.
– Knowledge of resins/material drying.
– Knowledge of machine operational controllers.
– Must be capable of preparing set-up specification sheets and mold water diagrams.
– Capable of setting-up product mold and start-up machine processing, including full trouble shooting capabilities, with no supervisor-assistance required.
– Capable of properly shutting down production moulds and purging of resins/materials, along with preparing moulds for storage after production run.
– Knowledge and capability of operating basics measuring equipment {such as: calipers, micrometers and electronic weigh scales).
