Term: Permanent Fulltime

GBNFC Salary Scale: $43,000.00 – $54,080.00 per Annum

Position Summary:

Following the Policies and Procedures of the Georgian Bay Native Friendship Centre (GBNFC), the Program Coordinator will plan, administer, and implement a range of culture-based programming and healing strategies/functions to ensure that the healing and wellness needs of the Indigenous community are addressed at the local level. It is essential that the lifestyle of the Healing and Wellness Coordinator reflects the principles and goals and values of the Indigenous Healing and Wellness Strategy at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

Ø Relevant post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience.

Ø Successful experience working with all levels of the Indigenous community

Ø Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions and teachings.

Ø Computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ø Proven ability to prepare reports in a timely manner

Ø Ability to develop working relationships with Indigenous and mainstream agencies.

Ø Knowledge of programs and services relevant to Indigenous Healing and Wellness.

Ø Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and some weekends

Ø Vaccinated or committed to be vaccinated against the Covid_19 virus.

Ø Produce a recent and acceptable Criminal Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Persons’ screening prior to an employment offer.

Ø Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Ø Must be able to demonstrate and model excellent work habits including punctuality, attendance, and commitment.
