KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Municipal representations and inspections
· All facets of client consultation, communication and representation
· Design engineering within applicable discipline (i.e. structural, mechanical, civil etc.)
· Sourcing and estimating
· Weekly time sheet review for field staff
· On-site support to site super and crew foremen
· AutoCAD support
· Report writing
· Job cost tracking support
· Materials reconciliation
· Collaboration with field staff
· Drawing interpretation
· Schedule development (critical path planning)
· Code interpretation
· Subtrade control including:
· Tender acceptance and reconciliation
· Compliance requirements
· Contract awards
· Contract completion verification
· Payment reconciliation
· On-site support
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Sound knowledge of all aspects of residential construction to instruct and provide direction to subtrades on site
- Ability to present oral reports to Municipal planning departments and interact with building departments for minor variances and building permit submissions
- Strong understanding of Project Management methodology including tools and metrics used to evaluate project performance
- Ability to estimate project costs and meet budgetary objectives
- Exceptional blueprint and specification reading/writing ability
- Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office including MS Project
- Experience using Sage 300 CRE or SAGE CPC, Procore, Revit and/or Bluebeam is an asset
- Commercial Project Management experience is an asset
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code (OBC)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects concurrently
- Effectively identify and manage priorities in order to meet deadlines
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills by delegating and providing clear direction to other team members
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education (CET, Architectural Technologist accreditation or a graduate of a University Civil Engineering program (EIT or P. Eng.))
- Current BCIN qualifications is an asset
- Commercial project management experience is an asset
- 5 years experience specializing in engineered light wood frame structures is an asset
- Working knowledge of structural steel and concrete construction is an asset
