Recreation Attendant

  • This role is located at JW Marriott in Muskoka. Lodging is available. Transportation is required.

Promoting a fun and relaxing environment, this role reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the fitness centre and pool areas and assists the recreation coordinator in facilitating recreation activities during peak times.


Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the fitness centre, by wiping down exercise machines, and removing towels, garbage and debris.

Maintain the cleanliness of the fitness and pool area restrooms and showers.

Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the children’s play area and games room.

Distribute pool towels to guests.

Maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck area including picking up towels and garbage.

Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities and activities.

Maintain safety and security of children and adults participating in recretational activies.

Issue resort recreation equipment to guests including ice stakes, snowshoes, canoes and kayaks by following procedures and explaining safety protocol.

Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned taks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program.


Specialized training in a fitness or recreation related area an asset

Experience working with children strongly preferred

Ability to work independently

Experience working in hospitality an asset

Current Standard First Aid & CPR “C” Certification

Current NLS “Pool” certification, preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Salary: $15.54 per hour

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends
