REPROCESSING TECHNICIAN
Temporary Full-Time Position (May 2023 to approximately June 2023)

We are currently looking for a Reprocessing Technician, reporting to the Manager of Surgical Services.
The incumbent is responsible to prepare, distribute and control sterile items, non-sterile items, and
equipment as required by the Health Centre.
Hours of work are all shifts, including weekends.
Basic Requirements:
• Successful completion of the Medical Device Reprocessing Techniques Course offered through
Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario, or willing to enroll prior to starting in the
position;
• Successful completion of Grade 12;
• Must be physically capable to transfer loads of 10 to 30 pounds and transporting equipment and
supplies throughout the Health Centre;
• Must have a demonstrated knowledge of instruments and supplies;
• Must have a demonstrated knowledge of the sterilization process;
• Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive
work references;
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills;
• Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of the West Parry Sound Health Centre:

Preferred Qualifications:
• Two years’ experience working in a hospital environment as a Reprocessing Technician.
Compensation & Benefits
$21.40 per hour to start
+ Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
+ 4% vacation pay and 13% pay in lieu of fringe benefits (9% if enrolled in HOOPP)
