Academic Programs Administrator

The physicians of Muskoka are actively engaged in teaching and research activities. The Academic
Programs Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the semi-weekly Muskoka Algonquin
Healthcare Grand Rounds program as well as some medical student academic and clinical learning
events. This individual will also assist our Regional Research Coordinator (RRC) with project
management. This will include grant editing, scheduling and organizing meetings with each project team
and providing direct on-site research assistant supervision.

– Oversee and facilitate our accredited Grand Rounds program
– Support our Site Academic Coordinator with academic activities for medical learners
– Direct on-site research assistant supervision
– Coordinate research assistant orientation and training with RRC
– Assist research assistants with projects as required
– IT set up for research assistants/projects
– Submit the credentialing requests to the appropriate IT department
– Submit the project file folder request and ensure the appropriate people have access
– Distribute project reminders for time specific protocols as required
– Participate in meetings as required.
– Review/edit grant applications/manuscripts/ethics applications
– Consent acquisition where it would be more appropriate than to have a student obtain consent
– Act as a research assistant as required
– Sit on research assistant interview panel as required
– Attend meetings face to face as required in the absence of the RRC

Education and Experience:
– Candidate will have graduated from an accredited college or university from a business or
administrative program or have equivalent workplace experience
– Must have access to own transportation. Travel within the region is required
– 2+ years of data entry experience
– Comfortable with technology and the Zoom virtual meeting platform
– Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
– Excellent grasp of English language and grammar

– Exceptional organizational skills
– Analytical and problem solving skills
– Work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
– Work effectively under time pressures
– Supervisory experience would be an asset
– Knowledge of medical terminology would be an asset
– Editing experience would be an asset
– Tri council policy training would be an asset
– Research experience an asset

Start Date: Late August 2021
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Location: Bracebridge and Huntsville
1-year independent contract (with potential for renewal)
