Retail Store Associate

First For Safety

Position Description:
First for Safety, operating for 28 years, has both a store front where they offer Occupational Health and
Safety products, janitorial products, first aid products, and a large training facility that offers First Aid and
CPR/AED as a training partner for the Canadian Red Cross, Working at Heights, WHMIS 2015, Propane
Handling training, and much more.

First for Safety is looking for someone who is quick to learn, enthusiastic, professional, and has a strong
desire to work independently and within a team.

– Receive and stock shipments to shelves and display
– Assist in display of merchandise
– Sell merchandise
– Product carry outs
– Prepare bills of lading
– Invoices and other shipping documents
– Operate cash register
– Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems
– Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
– Authorize return of merchandise
– Estimate or quote prices
– Credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates – Provide advice about merchandise
– Record customers’ orders
– Plan, organize and direct administrative services such
as signage, cleaning, maintenance, parking, safety
inspections, security and snow removal;
– Greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity
of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental
or lease
– Prepare merchandise for purchase, rental or lease
– Prepare sales, rental or leasing contracts and accept
cash, cheque, credit card or automatic debit payment
– Maintain sales records for inventory control
– Daily cleaning & general facility maintenance

– Knowledge with computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
– Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
– 1-2 years experience working in customer service
– Ability to work well independently
– Work well under pressure in a fast paces environment
– Handling Heavy loads
– Physically demanding including bending, crouching,
– Repetitive tasks
– Standing for long periods of time
– Effective interpersonal skills
– Excellent oral communication
– Dependable, reliable, hard working
– Flexible, adaptable
– Organized, efficient, energetic
– Collaborative, goal oriented, proactive,
integrity, positive attitude, time management skills
– Own Transportation / Valid drivers licence

Full Time Shifts:
Monday – Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm Specific hours to Be discussed
Job Status: Full Time
Hours: 35- 44/wk
Salary: $15 -$17 per hour
