Maintenance Managers Job Description


You will be required to inspect all facilities, equipment, and grounds on a regular and ongoing basis. You will be expected to maintain all facilities, equipment, and grounds.

You will also be given Room Maintenance Reports. When the problems listed on these reports are fixed, you will be required to notify management.

You will be expected to work on renovations and other projects, which are usually done when the resort is closed in order to not disturb our guests.

You will be required to order materials and supplies when asked and provide management with invoices. Each item on the invoices should be noted as to what the purpose or use was.

You will be required to accomplish all tasks necessary to winterize the resort at the end of the season as well as all tasks to open the resort in the spring.

You will be expected to manage the other members of the maintenance team (usually 2-3 maintenance workers). This includes training, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining and potentially terminating maintenance staff members, checking time cards and handing them into HR. You will be expected to inspect the work of the other team members in order to make sure the job was completed properly.

You will be required to ensure proper safety measures are taken by all maintenance staff members.
You will be required to keep all areas tidy and organized, including the shop, garages and sheds.

Seasonal Work Term – 8 months per year: April 1st until November 30th. These are approximate dates. Actual start and end dates each year will predominantly be determined by the weather. Weekly hours over the course of the year will average at approximately 40.

Schedule when resort open (Friday of Victoria Day weekend through Thanksgiving):

– 6 days per week with managers alternating days off.

– Approximately 44 hours per week.

– Maintenance managers will likely have staggered shifts with one starting later in the day.

Schedule when resort closed:

– You could possibility be called in winter for odd help

– Snow removal (when there is a lot of snow, we try to hire laborers but aren’t always successful)

On Call

Maintenance managers will have an on-call schedule so someone is always available (24/7) for emergencies.
