A telephone-order based supply company is seeking a full time Shipping Manager (& main order packer) to operate a busy but small-scale shipping & receiving department. We manufacture taxidermy supplies, which predominately take the form of urethane foam based mannikins. Business hours are Monday thru Friday 8-4pm. 30 minutes north-east of Parry Sound, therefore a reliable vehicle would be necessary. However, car pooling with another employee from Parry Sound is a definite possibility or option.

Main duties include:

Answering all phone and email inquiries or orders, managing the main email account diligently, recording client orders, operating a Quickbooks client database for processing orders and monitoring order histories, physically pulling ordered items from the on-site warehouse and packaging them appropriately, and operating three shipping account platforms (Purolator, Canada Post, and Manitoulin trucking). Much of our stock is made on site, but there are numerous smaller components and accessory parts (including packaging / shipping supplies) that are ordered from within Canada and the US, of which the stock quantities must be carefully monitored and ordered when necessary. Must be physically able to prepare, package, and lift boxes weighing approx. 50lbs (most often significantly less, and 50lbs would be the absolute maximum range). Regularly cutting mannikins with an electric saw to fit inside box dimensions is required. Organizing daily tasks for the assembly staff depending on what items you need made for client orders, minor Quickbooks-based administrative tasks, minor website price adjusting, and general office area upkeep / maintenance are also aspects of the job. Other duties include keeping the small shipping area’s shelves properly stocked and faced. This is a small but busy company so while this particular position requires a substantial degree of multi-tasking and consistent, organized attention, the pace is manageable and there is always a helpful, group dynamic at play. The candidate must possess a friendly, helpful demeanor and enjoy interacting with others as there is a high degree of direct-to-client interaction and customer service. Ultimately we are looking for a reliable, adaptable, hardworking employee with great communication and organizational skills.
