An hourly rate of pay of: $29.18 (starting) – $30.65 (after 3 months) – $32.18 (after 12 months) (under review), plus:

What You Will Do:

Serve as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Committee of Adjustment, responsible for preparing and circulating agendas, minutes, committee decisions, and act as the primary point of contact for
Committee members and applicants.

As Secretary-Treasurer perform draft plan and deed reviews to ensure compliance with theConditional of Approval and the Zoning By-Law, review draft deeds and legal descriptions, and stamp deeds for registration.
Prepare agreements for review, including subdivision, minor and major site plan and consent agreements.
Receive and review all site plan applications, circulate for comment and coordinate exemption and minor amendment consultations.
Assist the department in developing and reviewing procedures for applications in accordance with the Planning Act.
Develop agreements under the Planning Act.
Lead the records management process for the department, including tracking and distribution of notices, fees and completion of applications.
This position reports to the Director of Planning and Development, or designate.

We are looking for a team player who is enthusiastic, customer service focused and who has the following:

Community College diploma in secretarial and administrative studies, planning, law, or municipal studies.
Successful completion of the Ontario Association of Committees of Adjustment & Consent Authorities (OACA) Primer on Planning course.
At least 2 years’ recent and relevant experience, preferably in a municipal environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage high work volumes, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Good working knowledge of the Planning Act and other relevant legislation.
Excellent interpersonal skills together with the ability to exhibit tact, diplomacy and adhere to confidentiality requirements.
Excellent computer skills.
Ability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or events as required.
