Positions Available:

Dining Room Supervisor
We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic person to supervise our dining room staff. Job duties include all aspects of supervising, scheduling, training, and evaluating 15 servers. Responsibilities also include table management and seating, managing Dining Room cleanliness and maintenance. Candidate must be highly organized, well groomed, and have an outgoing and friendly personality. Dates of employment are May-October.

Dining Room Server
Job duties include serving guests three meals per day, clearing and resetting tables, refreshing dining room between sittings, and assisting with other food service functions such as setting up for conferences, weddings, buffets, and barbecues. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, and have a friendly and outgoing personality. Serving experience is asset but not essential. Candidates must have Smart Serve Certificate. Training is provided.

Bartender
Candidate must have bartending experience and a Smart Serve Certificate. Job duties include maintaining the liquor and pop inventory, and balancing the float. Candidate must be highly organized and have a friendly and outgoing personality.

Sous-Chef
The Sous-Chef is the second in command and direct assistant of the Executive Chef Hubert Obermeier. This person will be responsible for substituting when the Chef is off-duty and will also fill in for or assist the Chef de Partie (line cook) when needed. This person is responsible for inventory, cleanliness of the kitchen, organization and constant training of kitchen staff. The “Sous-Chef” is responsible for taking commands from the Chef and following through with them.

Breakfast Cook

Prepare and deliver a busy resort breakfast service while providing a high standard of fresh food. Requirements include knowledge of food safety and hygiene, stamina, being available for work at early hours, and time management. The ability to work independently required. Quicker learner and takes direction well. Breakfast cooking experience required. Ability to cook a variety of style of eggs required.

Pastry Chef
Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes. Creating new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers. Decorating pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.

Cook
Basic knowledge in food preparation, knife skills and sanitation are required. Job duties include food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen. Training is provided. Candidate must be organized, well groomed and hardworking.

Dishwasher
Job duties include cleaning dishes, pots, and pans, and returning them to the appropriate places. The dishwasher also maintains the cleanliness of the dish room and kitchen.

Front Desk Agent
Front Desk Agents provide our guests with their first impression of Severn Lodge. Job duties include checking guests in and out, providing information about the resort and surrounding area, answering telephone inquiries and taking reservations, and servicing guests in the gift shop. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, well groomed, and have a friendly and outgoing personality. Prior experience is helpful but not necessary. Training is provided.

Groundskeeper
Job duties include maintaining the resort grounds and exterior areas of the property including pool, hot tub, lawn and gardens. Responsibilities also include general labour, and responding to guest room maintenance requests. Candidates must be self starters, and be able to work at a diligent pace in order to complete the tasks assigned. Some heavy lifting is involved. Prior experience is a plus but not necessary. Training is provided.

Resort Gardener
Job duties include planting, mulching, and maintaining resort gardens, lawns and flower boxes. Some heavy lifting is required. Candidates must be self-starters and able to work well independently. Previous gardening experience required.

Housekeeping Room Attendant
Job duties include daily cleaning of guest rooms as well as assisting with laundry duties when necessary. Candidates must be able to work successfully in a team environment. Training is provided.

Housekeeping Laundry Attendant
Job duties include operation of washers, dryers, and folding laundry. Candidates must be able to work successfully in a team environment. Training is provided.

Recreation Director
Candidates must be energetic and enthusiastic. Responsibilities include supervision of children between the ages of 2-12. Creativity and leadership skills are essential to lead games, arts and crafts, sports and other daily organized activities. Prior experience working with children, First Aid and lifesaving skills and a police background check are required. Candidates must be organized, well groomed, and have a friendly and outgoing personality. Security check, First Aid / CPR

Waterfront Attendant

Job duties include daily cleaning of boats and other equipment, as well as signing out and giving instruction on how to operate rental boats and jet skis. The waterfront attendant also fuels the motorized equipment, inspects equipment, makes sure all safety equipment is provided and monitors the waterfront in order to assure that resort patrons enjoy water related activities safely. Boating experience and a Pleasure Craft Operator Card are required. NLS lifeguard certification would be an asset.

Toddler Program Director
This position involves the supervision of toddlers ages 2-4. Creativity and leadership skills are essential to lead games, arts & crafts, and other daily organized activities. Prior experience working with children, First Aid, and lifesaving skills, and a police background check are required. Security check, First Aid / CPR

Kids Club Staff
Duties include interactive supervision of children 3 to 12 years of age. You will be responsible for leading games, arts & crafts, sports and other daily organized activities. An outgoing personality & prior experience working with children are both required. Creativity is also a HUGE asset! Job specific training will be provided. 6 days per week, day shifts with some night duties, 45-50 hours per week. Positions are available from June to September.
