Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Specific Skills: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment; Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines; Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment; Interpret welding process specifications; Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products

Equipment and Machinery Experience: Gas welding machine

Additional Skills: Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes; Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications

Area of Specialization: Custom fabrication; Structural construction

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Welding Techniques: Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG)

Work Setting: Manufacture

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots; Gloves; Welding helmet

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment; Attention to detail; Hand-eye co-ordination

Type of Materials: Aluminum alloys; Steel, iron and heavy metals
