Not-For-Profit Leadership Program Descriptions

Level 1: Introspective Leadership

Leadership begins with you. Increase your understanding of self and the impact it has on others as you learn your personal strengths and the extent to which they can contribute to a team and the goals of your organization. Learn boundaries to manage stress and how to apply tools and concepts of communication that can improve processes of teamwork and the implementation of solutions to everyday problems.

Timing: February 6-8, 2019
Location: YMCA Geneva Park, 6604 Rama Road Ramara, ON

Timing: June 20-22, 2018
Location: Lakehead University – Orillia Campus, 500 University Ave, Orillia ON

*Note: Not all modules listed above will necessarily be part of the Level 1 curriculum. Modules selected will be based on a combination of factors including facilitator availability and steering/advisory committee recommendations.

A fast track option for Level One is available for those participants who meet the following requirements: Need to have a minimum of 10 years management experience, currently be in a senior management position – as senior staff, Executive Director, Sergeant, etc. However it is only available once a candidate has enrolled into Level Two of the program and has applied to be considered for that option (meeting the criteria in order to apply). Should the candidate be selected for the fast track option, there is a fee of $350+HST to gain access to all Level One resources as well as a one-on-one discussion reviewing the material and pre-work assignments for Level One, in addition to the Level 2 fee of $895+HST.

Level 2: Dynamic Leadership

Increase your knowledge of the impact you have in dynamic situations. During this program, you will gain a deeper understanding of self and the extent to which you can manage change and the constant shifting demands within the workplace. You will be provided with a variety of models and frameworks to help you examine the part you play in conflicts and in establishing social and leadership collateral within your organization.

The Art of Persuation

Level 3: Legacy Leadership

Maturity of leadership arrives when you can prioritize the development of others and that of the organization. Increase your innovative thinking skills and improve your performance in unstructured situations in this generative and thought provoking course. Develop a better understanding of how the decisions you make today have a significant influence on the next generation in your role and the impact your organization can have in the future. This program will build on the foundation of levels one and two to enable you to be an intentional and innovative visionary as your organization evolves.
