Province Lifts Capacity Restrictions for Gyms

The Provincial government has announced that as of October 25, capacity restrictions in gyms and fitness centres will be lifted. The YMCA is pleased to continue to deliver quality programs in a safe environment, following all COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, including: proof of vaccination, masking, physical distancing, and thorough cleaning/sanitization procedures. The lifting of capacity restrictions in our Health, Fitness, and Aquatics facilities will permit:

  • Increased capacity in our fitness, lane swim, and Aquafit programs
  • Increased locker availability in our family and general change rooms
  • Reopening of lounge spaces
  • Return of our Cardiac Rehabilitation programs

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

As per the Ontario Government’s announcement regarding its proof of vaccine certificate plan, as of September 22, 2021 all YMCA Health & Fitness members and visitors who are 12 years and older will be required to provide proof of vaccination (second dose must have been received a minimum of 14 days prior to entering a YMCA facility). For more information on the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka’s mandatory proof of vaccination policy, click here.
