Job Description
The Jolly Roger is looking for a professional front desk clerk to oversee the receptionist and secretarial duties at the main entrance desk. In this role, you will preform a range of duties including answering phone calls, greeting guests, and checking guests into and out of the hotel. As the “face” of our company, your central goal is to provide our clients with outstanding customer service. The successful candidate/s will be presentable and friendly, with outstanding people skills. You should have a talent for multi-tasking, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Hours of work
Afternoons and weekends until start of summer hours. Full Time
Tasks
- Greet guests with a welcoming smile, and provide excellent customer service
- Ensure the front desk is neat and presentable
- Taking, cancelling, and changing room reservation requests
- Maintaining an inventory of reservations, vacancies, and room assignments
- Answer guest questions and phone calls
- Redirect phone calls to the appropriate department and take down messages
- Maintain records and files
- Check guests in and out of the hotel
- Create memorable experiences for guests
Skills and Qualifications
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Strong knowledge of MS Office programs
- Time management skills
- Always able to put on a friendly smile
- Ability to creatively solve problems
