Tim Hortons Foundation Camps help youth from underserved communities achieve their full potential through multi-year, overnight camp experiences. Whether at camp or back home in their communities between visits—our youth work to build social, emotional, leadership and innovation skills and behaviours like volunteerism and motivation to learn so they become civically and academically engaged, and successfully transition to adulthood.

Job Summary

Seasonal Program Coordinators are key in supporting the successful execution of Tims Camps Programs based on the outcome framework, curriculum, and standards. They provide support with the coaching, training and supervision of program staff to drive the creation of a supportive and inclusive experience for campers to discover, use and develop their skill sets.

Work Location

This role will be based onsite at our Tim Horton Memorial Camp located in Parry Sound, ON.

Contract Length

March 18, 2024 – October 31, 2024

What would you be doing?

  • Establish relationships with youth aged 11-17 that reflect respect, trust, and empathy
  • Demonstrate, role model and monitor program standards related to safety and proper use of equipment by all staff and participants in your assigned program area(s)
  • Continually assess risks and take action to correct and/or report risks, completing necessary documentation as required
  • Assist with coaching, supervising and evaluating staff, including the completion and delivery of performance management process
  • Provide on-going, timely feedback to staff, and model inclusivity and other positive behaviours
  • Support the delivery of staff training, as required
  • Monitor, support and communicate camper issues with the management team
  • Contribute to a friendly and supportive environment which encourages campers to work through challenges, try new things, and celebrate differences
  • Work with program staff to ensure program area and equipment are organized, fully stocked, and in good repair
  • Coordinate, develop and execute programs in accordance with THFC and accrediting body standards
  • Contribute positively to the camp team and culture
  • Model healthy choices and emotional maturity for both campers and staff
  • Work flexible hours while campers are present on site

Does this sound like you?

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Experienced facilitator. Demonstrates ability to adapt facilitation style based on individual or group needs
  • Skilled in positive behavior management and problem solving
  • Certified in Standard First Aid + CPR (adult, child, infant) with AED, or willing to obtain
  • Able to provide an acceptable criminal background check or vulnerable sector check
  • Are legally able to work in Canada or the United States, depending upon your employment location
  • Able to live onsite for extended periods of time and work flexible hours
  • Related youth and/or camp experience
  • G-class driver’s license or equivalent (considered an asset)
  • Strong group facilitation
  • Required technical certifications are based on assigned program areas and are outlined in the Program Standards
