Welcome to YMCA Licensed Home Child Care

What is Licensed Home Child Care?

The YMCA Licensed Home Child Care program offers daily extended care to children from birth to 12 years of age. We ensure that all homes under our supervision operate according to the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA) and the YMCA’s philosophy. Each home will provide a stimulating environment while maintaining a warm, family setting. We strive to gear play and learning experiences to each child’s individual needs, interests, and abilities. The Ministry of Education’s Pedagogy, “How Does Learning Happen?” is the philosophy through which our caregivers operate.

The Licensed Home Child Care program matches families with compatible Home Child Care Providers within the family’s own neighbourhood or parents’ work vicinity whenever possible. Home Child Care Providers are carefully screened, and a child is placed only after the Home Child Care Provider, parents and child have had an opportunity to meet and sign an agreement.
